Gipuzkoa

Alquiza (en euskera y oficialmente Alkiza) es un municipio del centro de Guipúzcoa, de carácter rural, al noroeste de la comarca de Tolosaldea. 27 kilómetros al sur de San Sebastián. En 2016 tenía 346 habitantes, de los cuales el 88,8% eran vascófonos. Es municipio independiente desde 1731, anteriormente dependió de Tolosa y de San Sebastián.

La plaza del pueblo se encuentra a 340 metros sobre el nivel del mar y en ella se encuentran la escuela, el ayuntamiento, el frontón y la iglesia parroquial. El municipio cuenta con más de 40 caseríos y casa dispersas.

A sus habitantes se les apoda en euskera oiloak (gallinas).

La fiesta mayor de la villa es el 8 de septiembre.
