Está regado por el río Jamuz. Su economía se basa en cultivos de legumbres, cereales, patatas, remolacha; ganado vacuno productor de leche y herrerías. Destacar la tradicional industria cerámica (alfarería tradicional) de Jiménez de Jamuz, y la hostelería (también en Jiménez de Jamuz).
